Abstract

Infeksi opportunistik kandidiasis oral disebabkan ketidakmampuan tubuh dalam melawan flora normal dan mikroorganisme patogen. Penurunan sistem imun atau imunokompromais ditandai dengan terjadinya infeksi oppotunistik, menjadi indikator ODHA masuk kestadium terberat HIV yaitu AIDS. Tujuan pengabdian : edukasi kesehatan mengenai infeksi opportunistik kandidiasis oral pada kelompok dukungan sebaya (KDS) dengan melibatkan perawat dan kader. Metode kegiatan dengan edukasi, partisipatif diskusi, penggunaan kuisioner sebelum dan sesudah edukasi, dan wawancara KDS menunjukan antusiasme tinggi pada kegiatan pengabmas. Ada peningkatan pengetahuan peserta mengenai infeksi opportunistik kandidiasis oral. Intervensi pencegaha kandidiasis : edukasi kesehatan tentang pencegahan infeksi opportunistik, oral hygine yang tepat dan waktu lebih dari 2 menit, penggunaan obat kumur dengan Olive Oil serta rutin melakukan penilaian klinis harian dengan instrumen oral assessment guide (OAG). Instrumen OAG menilai derajat mukositis dan kandidiasis mudah digunakan. Pemahaman mengenai infeksi opportunistik dan pencegahanya penting bagi KDS. Pengabidan masyarakat berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan derajad kesehatan KDS, sekaligus meningkatkan pengetahuan kader khususnya tentang infeksi opportunistik.
